24 large Premier strawberries
4 organic lemons
1 cup raw cane sugar
6 cups filtered water
½ cup agave syrup (optional, for vegan alternative)
Wash 24 firm strawberries under cold water
Remove green tops but leave stems intact
Crush 12 strawberries with a pestle in a mortar
Blend remaining 12 strawberries with 1 cup water
Juice 3 lemons into ¾ cup fresh juice
Add lemon zest from the 1 remaining lemon
