A refreshing homemade lemonade made with fresh lemons, cane sugar, and ice for a tart-sweet balance. Makes 8 cups of chilled, vibrant citrus drink perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

Organic lemons, 8-12 count
Cane sugar, 1 cup (200g)
Filtered water, 1 gallon
Ice cubes, 1 cup (optional)

Instructions

Roll lemons on countertop to release juice
Cut lemons in halves diagonally
Juice each half, collecting pulp and juice in a jug
Dissolve sugar in 1/4 gallon water (160-170°F), then cool
Mix sugared water with remaining water and lemon juice in a pitcher
Let chill in refrigerator for 2 hours
Stir in optional ice cubes and strain through nut milk bag

Notes

Use room temperature lemons for better juice extraction
Measure juice by weight (12oz preferred)
Replace sugar with honey/agave syrup for all-natural sweetener
Chilled storage up to 2 days
