A tangy, homemade lemonade made with organic lemons, granulated sugar, and water. Perfect for hot days or summer gatherings. Light, refreshing, and easy to make with high-quality ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale

8 (medium) organic lemons (Use organic for better flavor and fewer pesticides)
2 cups granulated sugar (Use brown sugar for deeper flavor or adjust per taste)
4 cups warm water (Helps dissolve sugar faster)
6 cups cold water (For diluting the lemonade to desired strength)
Ice cubes (To serve) (Use crushed ice for a frostier glass)

Instructions

In a small bowl, combine granulated sugar and warm water.
Stir until sugar has fully dissolved. Let syrup cool to room temperature.
Strain the syrup into a separate bowl if any bits of sugar remain.
Wash and roll each lemon on the counter to juice more easily.
Cut lemons in half and squeeze by hand or use a manual juicer.
Strain the juice to remove seeds and pulp. Set aside.
In a large pitcher, combine lemon juice, simple syrup, and cold water.
Stir well until sugar is fully dissolved in the mixture.
Place pitcher in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Roll the lemons before cutting: This helps maximize juice extraction and improves flavor yield.
Use lemons at room temperature: Cold lemons produce cloudier juice with less aroma.
Don’t over-sweeten: Taste and adjust to preference before adding cold water.
