Achieve a restaurant-grade sear right in your kitchen with this easy air fryer ribeye steak recipe. By utilizing intense convection heat, this method locks in natural juices while creating a perfectly crisp, savory crust. It is a convenient, hands-off approach to cooking a high-quality steak to your preferred level of doneness without the mess of stovetop splattering.

Ingredients

Scale

2 Ribeye steaks (1 inch thick)
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon Kosher salt
0.5 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
0.5 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

Remove steaks from the refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking to reach room temperature.
Pat the steaks completely dry with paper towels to ensure a good sear.
Rub the steaks evenly with olive oil on all sides.
Combine salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a small bowl, then apply the seasoning liberally to all surfaces of the steaks.
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F for at least 5 minutes.
Place the seasoned steaks into the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not overlap.
Cook for 10 to 14 minutes, flipping halfway through, depending on your desired level of doneness.
Remove steaks from the air fryer and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Always use a meat thermometer to check for doneness: 130°F for medium-rare, 140°F for medium, or 150°F for medium-well. Ensure your steaks are at room temperature before starting for the most even cooking results.
